I was placed into Tick Tock Beats when I was 5 years old. Back then, I never enjoyed playing the piano and was too young to understand the benefits of learning music. I felt forced to attend classes and was always reluctant to practice as it felt like a task, which led me to make plenty of mistakes whenever I’d play during lessons. However, thanks to my teachers’ patience and guidance throughout the years of teaching, I could feel my skills improving by the year. They’ve never failed to provide useful techniques to help make my practice hours more efficient. They would constantly point out mistakes or give feedback on what I could improve before the next lesson. I even started finding joy in playing instruments, as by practising and improving my skills, I eventually learned to play my favourite songs. Sometimes I’d even find peace in the melodious tunes I play. Regardless, I am incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity to learn music in a centre like Tick Tock Beats under the hands of skilful and caring teachers.
